This year we have decided that every month we will discover a new artist and look at their work, we will read about their life and write out their biography.

We will also try to either recreate a piece of work or paint/draw etc in their style.

Among other things we intend to do will be visiting art galleries and museums in the Nottingham area, the Midlands and hopefully in London.

Below is a list of online resources we have found useful:

Ambleside Online Curriculum - Artist Studies
advice on how to share picture studies with your kids as well as a great month by month curriculum and some great links

Art Guide Website
has an amazing amount of links and resources from art museums and galleries in the UK, those with online websites, and a great link for kids.

The Tate
has a collection of 6 downloadable modules to help with this subject
** excellent resource**

The National Gallery
a wonderful online resource so far - includes zoomable pictures and biographies of all the artist among many other things.

Garden of Praise
my absolute favourite - everything you need to start artist appreciation studies.

NotebookingPages.com
free printable notebook pages for writing up your artist studies - including an artists bio page, a picture study page and also free painting print-outs.
